Hello! My name is Master Bobby Popham and I’m a 5th dan (degree) hapkido instructor here in Habersham County. I started my business, Popham Athletics, in 2003 after learning that I was better suited opening my own business. I did private coaching for high school wrestling for a few years until 2007 where I began with teaching and promoting mixed martial arts(MMA), accumulating students, and running martial arts charity events to help the community. I transitioned back to traditional martial arts in 2010 and started teaching Hapkido, the style of martial arts I learned growing up, and officially starting my current business, Georgia Hapkido Academy. Flash forward to now, we are blessed each year as we gain more martial arts enthusiasts that join our school and our numbers continue to grow with no sign of slowing down. We offer traditional Hapkido for men, women, and children, ages 4 and up. We also offer a competition style class for kickboxing, wrestling, grappling, and Muay Thai for our older students, ages 13 and up, that focuses on learning skills to compete in tournaments and fight competitions. We also have a 501(c) 3 non profit called Humans to Heroes INC to do free community classes on bullying, womens self awareness, and giving less fortunate kids a positive direction growing up in society.
