AccessWDUN is a division of Jacobs Media, a family-owned media company based in Gainesville, Ga. Jacobs Media also owns three radio stations, WDUN AM550, WDUN FM102.9 and The Lake FM94.5 and AM1240.
Jacobs Media was founded in 1949 by the late John W. Jacobs Jr., a successful businessman and philanthropist. Under his guidance, Jacobs Media brought North Georgia its first FM radio station, its first cable company and the region’s first online newspaper. Generations of North Georgians have grown up getting news, information and entertainment from the Jacobs Media family of radio stations and websites.
Today, WDUN AM/FM is a popular news/talk station, offering a great mix of local and syndicated talk, and The Lake offers adult contemporary music, the best music from the hottest stars of the 80s, 90s and today.
In 1999, Jacobs’ son, John W. “Jay” Jacobs III, the current president and CEO, brought the company into a compelling era of new media, launching AccessNorthGa.com, the region’s first Internet news service. In April 2015, the website was rebranded as AccessWDUN to combine the site’s consistent news coverage with the rich history of WDUN radio.
Today, AccessWDUN is the North Georgia’s most read news website for local news. In 2017, AccessWDUN averaged nearly 242,000 unique visitors to the site each month, over 1.2 million sessions per month and almost 4.25 million pageviews per month. And visitors to AccessWDUN spent more than eight minutes on various pages of the site. That's a lot of time and a lot of visits for your ad to make an impact.
